Temporary change to entry at Lyttelton Port’s main security entrance
The left entry lane at Lyttelton Port’s main security entrance in Gladstone Quay is currently closed and entry is through the swipe card access lane beside it.
It is expected the left access lane will reopen in a few weeks. LPC Security staff are operating from a temporary forward position at the entrance to minimise any disruption while the single lane entry is operating.
The left entry lane has been closed since Friday (14 April) when the area was inspected for the risk of rock fall following heavy rain last week. Geotechnical Engineers have completed a detailed inspection and remedial work planning is underway.
Containers were placed on the roadway yesterday, Wednesday 19 April, to protect the area until the work is finished.
Holcim’s bagging plant exit will be closed during the remedial work period.
Safety is a high priority and these steps are necessary to effectively undertake the work required.
We appreciate your patience during this time.
