The process

In May 2020, Lyttelton Port Company (LPC) announced we would be appointing a reviewer to conduct an independent review of our workplace culture, following serious allegations from a number of sources including internal observations and the media.

The reviewer we have appointed is Maria Dew QC, a senior barrister based in Auckland.

The review terms of reference cover allegations relating to bullying, racial and sexual discrimination, harassment, and unfair selection of family members for roles. The period covered is between January 2017 and June 2020.

The review is open to any current and former staff or contractors of LPC who wish to come forward with relevant information to assist the review.

A period of 14 days will be available for participants to register their wish to be interviewed, from July 24 to August 7.  If you would like to be interviewed, please contact Maria directly via the external confidential email established for the review: lpc@mariadew.co.nz

The review will assess our workplace culture and make recommendations for change at LPC.  We will share the decisions that come out of this process, and begin to work on change as soon as possible.
