A vibrant Pride flag now welcomes everyone who enters LPC’s WFH building.
It stands as a strong symbol of inclusion and shows our commitment to diversity.
The flag was a gift from Pride Pledge, an organisation that supports safety, visibility, and inclusion for rainbow communities.
Chief Financial Officer, Vincent Mortimer, says the DEIB committee led this project and carefully selected the flag’s location. It is now displayed at the WFH entrance, where everyone can see it.
“It wasn’t a decision we needed to think too much about, the real challenge was making sure the flag was framed and positioned in a way that truly reflects its importance,” said Vincent.
“It was important to make it visible to everyone entering Waterfront House as a clear statement of the type of values we have here at LPC – that creating a safe environment for diverse people to work is a big part of one of our core values – Care,” Vincent added.
For Vincent, the Pride flag represents more than gender orientation. It stands for all types of diversity, including gender, ethnicity, different perspectives, and lifestyles.
“When you have a workspace that encourages people from all spectrums to feel safe and welcomed, you get better work ideas, better performance in safety and financially, better staff retention, much more engaged teams, and healthier people,” he says.
“Who wouldn’t want that?”
At LPC, the Pride flag is a visible reminder of our ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and able to be themselves. As we continue to strengthen our diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives, the flag signals our dedication to creating an environment where differences are not only welcomed but celebrated.
