The MSC Magnifica made its first visit to Lyttelton on a 4-month, 121-day global journey.

The occasion featured a water cannon salute, marking the first MSC Cruise Ship to visit Christchurch.

LPC Chief Customer and Supply Chain Officer Simon Munt participated in the plaque exchange ceremony with Captain Pietro Sarcinella.

The ship accommodates 2,550 passengers, including 36 home-schooled children and some working online while travelling. Most passengers are European, primarily from France and Germany.

After spending another 50 days at sea, the MSC Magnifica will travel from Milford Sound to Australia, the Maldives, Seychelles, Madagascar, South Africa, and finally to Italy, disembarking in Barcelona, Spain.
